5 Things We Love About Matt Dusk

By Allison Onyett, Oct 22

Matt Dusk is one of Canada’s most beloved male jazz vocalists and we're thrilled that he'll be performing at the CORE’s upcoming Twas the Night on November 27, 2014. We were fortunate be able to spend some quality time with the Juno award nominated crooner recently, and we became even bigger fans than we already were (if that's even possible). Here's why:

1) His Genuine Charisma: This guy oozes natural coolness and charm that can make you melt and he definitely knows how to get a crowd eating out of the palm of his hand.

2) He’s Canadian: We love that this artists is a home grown Canadian and proud of it. And without being too stereotypical, it shows in his polite demeanor and laissez faire attitude.

3) His Sense of Style: Dusk’s style is reflective of the era he sings from; well-tailored suits, pocket squares and shiny patent leather shoes are just the beginning.  We may be a bit bias, but we think he wears this mad-men-esk look incredibly well.

4) His Dedication: Dusk is immensely talented, but he has also worked very hard and spent the better part of his life studying music. Dusk boasts years of training at St.Michael's Choir School and a BFA from Toronto’s York University, among other notable acheivements.

5) He’s Inspired by the Greats: When you listen to his music, it’s no surprise that Dusk is inspired by timeless artists like Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Tony Bennett and of course Chet Baker, whom he plays homage to in his fifth studio album, My Funny Valentine.

Don’t miss this year’s ‘Twas the Night and his free public performance that’s sure to put you in the holiday mood. Click Here for more information and to RSVP.
