Quilt Up

When it comes to purchasing a new fall coat this year, qualitied outwear is essential. The slick and slimming quilt stitching is always a classic. Made popular by Ralph Lauren, this preppy look will elevate your wardrobe.

Simons- Urban Quilted Bomber Jacket $89

Brooks Brothers- Quilted Walking Coat $398

Club Monaco- Woolrich Quilted Blazer $615

Corduroy

The 70's had some questionable fashion moments, but despite those perms and lycra pants, the 70's added some individuality to wardrobes. It was all about texture; denim, leather, suede and this seasons best -- corduroy. Corduroy is the perfect fabric to mix into your business attire, or night out with friends. From bomber style jackets and slim cut trousers, this trend is the easiest to work in.

Simons- Corduroy Trucker Jackets $118

H&M- Cotton Corduroy Pants $69.99

Banana Republic- Emerson Pant $95

Double-Breasted Jackets

Don't cringe, this isn't the oversized double-breasted jacket with baggy trousers you're thinking of. This is the much more tailored spin on a classic suit jacket or outwear.  The slimmer fit, double-breasted jacket is a great statement piece to add into your wardrobe. Experminenting with tailoring, colours and prints, try this traditionally outdated look on  your next shopping trip.

Simons- Double-breasted overcoat $295

Harry Rosen- Hardy Amies $1,095

Gap- Wool Blend Peacoat $220

Check Mate

Plaid suiting is a savvy choice this season. From large checks to small, from a distance the pattern appears tame, but up close, commands attention. Some of you may shy from this print, however playing with darker hues of black, gray and navy, make this pattern extremely subtle. Or go big and bold with lighter colours and brighter checks.

Simons- Marzotto Check Suit $495

H&M- Plaid Skinny Fit $158.99

Le Chateau- Check Two-Tone Suit $284.95

Turtlenecks

This might be one of the most debatable menswear styles, but the turtlneck is in!  This classic layering piece is great under suit jackets or paired with a leather jacket and jeans for an edgy rocker look.

Simons- Boxy Loft Turtleneck  Sweater $125

Club Monaco- Double Knit Turtleneck $129.50

Brooks Brothers- Golden Fleece 3D Cashmere Turtleneck $598
