7 Pairs of Non-Traditional Stampede Footwear

By Maddy Weedle, Jul 06

While cowboy boots are definitely the "it" shoe of Stampede, it's nice to have other options too, especially on those swealtering hot days. So we’ve put together a list of seven non-traditional Stampede footwear from gladiator sandals to open-toed shooties to complete your Stampede look, and the best part is, you can wear them all summer long.

1. Fringe: Fringe is one of the biggest trends of summer, and lucky for us, it adds a western flare to any look.  These suede shoes with a stacked heel from Browns are ideal for both the office or any Stampede party on your calendar.

Browns B2 Fringe Sandal $149.98

2. Wood: Not only does wood work for Stampede style, but it's also on-trend with the boho-chic look this season. A wood heeled sandal would pair well with jean cut-offs or a flowy summer dress. We love this imitation wood sandal from Spring that has unique features including studs and a block heel.

Spring Lorenzago $25

3. Suede Bootie: For a casual yet polished look try a suede bootie. We love these Canadian designed booties from Roots that come in three colours (Earth, Black and Africa). Throw them on for a comfortable alternative if you have a lot of walking to do.

Roots Italian Wedge Bootie Suede $268

4. Gladiator Sandal: The gladiator sandal trend is back, and they’re higher than ever. What we love about this trend is you don’t have to compromise comfort for style. For Stampede, try these sandals with a lace ensemble topped off with a jean jacket and cowboy hat.

Holt Renfrew Valentino $1495

5. Denim: What better way to incorporate  denim into your outfit than in a sandal? We love the cut-outs in these Michael Kors wedges that will keep your feet cool during those hot days of Stampede.

Michael Kors Gillian Leather-Trimmed Denim Wedge $178

6. Open-Toed Shootie: Ankle boots are a great substitute for Cowboy boots during Stampede. Opt for an open-toed pair for summer that will allow your feet to breathe. We love this shootie from Aldo that is perfect for Stampede with its decorative tassel and classic camel colour.

Aldo Lennoxville $110

7. Moccassin: A moccassin is a nice comfrotable alternative to a cowboy boot (they're literally slippers!) These cork moose fringe booties from Softmoc have authentic details and traditional comfort, and we love that they are truely Canadian.

SoftMoc Cork Moose Fringe Bootie $99.99
