Our Top Ten Food Hot Spots!

By The CORE, Aug 25

We've completed our CORE Food Frenzy passport and are so excited to share our top ten hot spots! Check them out for some inspiration of your own before the end of food frenzy next week.

A Cup o' Joe

The CORE has lots of options to choose from when starting your day off with a cup of coffee. This month, our favourite hot spots were Second Cup (especially for the cold brews!) and Caffe Trieste, made with deliciously traditional Italian coffee it's the perfect start to the day.

Lunchtime Madness

When it comes to lunch, the food court is a hive of activity and we've been absolutely obsessed with the newest addition, Go Grill. Made right in front of your eyes with ingredients that you choose, it's a healthy lunch where you know exactly what you're eating. For a more relaxed environment, we headed over to Eve Cafe located on the second level of Simons. It's tucked away quaint atmosphere is the perfect location for a healthy bite to eat looking out of the historic Lancaster Building.

Afternoon Pick Me Up

We can't lie, the 2:00pm slump is more than real. We definitely didn't need the Food Frenzy passport as an excuse to frequent our all-time favourites: Purdy's and Cookies by George. Canadian to the core, it's no surprise that they made our top ten list! Have you tried the peaches and cream August feature cookie yet?

Dinner

One of our favourite meals that we look forward to in the day! When we're on the go and need a quick munch, we can't not grab a pizza from Ripe Tomato up in the food court. Our favourite is the Prosciutto and Arugula; it's the perfect combination of salty and fresh spice. Yumm!

For a more refined dining experience, we love getting the truly Albertan juicy steak at Hy's. Mmm! No weekend is really complete with a glass of wine and the cheese toast that we could literally eat by the bucket.

Happy Hour!

The weather this month has been incredible and we've loved kicking them off with drinks and snacks from our restaurants. Cactus Club, Met Grill, and Hy's all have their own patios and, combined with their signature cocktails like belinis and frose, it's the ulimate start to any weekend adventure.
