Top 5 Christmas Trees at the CORE

Top 5 Christmas Trees at the CORE

If you’ve been down to the CORE over the last month to do your holiday shopping, it would have been completely impossible to miss the 150 Christmas trees all lit up for #FindChristmasDowntown. Filling the entire mall, these 150 beautiful, sparkly trees were decorated by 150 organizations, non-profits, charities and individuals all in the name of Christmas.

Just before Christmas all 150 trees will be swept away from the CORE to be taken by the Magic of Christmas charity and hand-delivered to well-deserving families across the city - so that they too can enjoy them over the holidays. It is such a great initiative and a fantastic way to decorate the CORE for the holiday season. I’ve rounded up my top five favourite trees, a tough job to narrow them down out of all 150.

Enerplus Superhero Tree: I love how fun and quirky the superhero tree is - it feels like a Christmas tree comic book come to life. There is so much to love about this tree - from every single detail including the awesome superhero logos, bright colour scheme and lightning bolts.

Team Community Tree: This tree is so incredibly beautiful - I noticed it from two floors above. The topper is gorgeous with a red honeycomb complete with bows and flowers. The tree is adorned in adorable Chinese takeout boxes, fans and other red and gold accents.

WAX Pom Pom Tree: This tree is probably my favourite out of all of them. I love how whimsical and fun the colourful pom poms are - it looks like something straight out of Whoville. The giant pom-pom on the top is seriously so incredible and adds a next level charm to the overall tree.

Dave Kelly Live Tree: Dave Kelly always brings so much personality to what he does that it is no surprise that the Dave Kelly Live tree is just as awesome and fun as he is. Decorated with paintings by the talented Mandy Stobo aka Bad Portraits, this tree is next level fun and creative.

Calgary Zoo Tree: If you love pandas, you will go crazy for the Calgary Zoo tree. The Zoo team went all out with a panda exhibit themed tree to promote Panda Passage, the panda exhibit that is coming the spring of 2018. The black, white and red colour theme is so eye-catching and the stuffed pandas make it so fun.
